The beginning of summer can be felt everywhere. More and more summer fruits, berries and vegetables are available in markets and shops. However, this season’s first Ukrainian blueberries are more than a third more expensive than last year. While last year the price of the first berry was three hundred hryvnias, this year we can see prices averaging 500 and even 700 hryvnias per kilo.
Of course, closer to the middle of summer, the price goes down. This year, however, much will depend on how blueberry farms survive the spring frosts.
