While it’s still winter, we continue to introduce you to the blueberry varieties grown by the Agrarian Company Eco-Park. Today we will tell you a little bit about Duke.
This is another of the varieties of American selection, bred in the “blueberry” state of New Jersey. It has a mild sweet taste with a slight sourness and a pleasant rich aroma. It has large (up to 2 cm) light blue rounded berries. The bushes of this variety are tall but not spreading, so they do not need frequent pruning.
Duke is one of the very first varieties we try, because it begins to ripen in mid-June and gives a high yield of 4 to 8 kg per bush.
